This is a character I created for an RPG (Role Play Game). I made the drawing by hand, inked it by freehand (without rulers or French curves) and scanned it; then I colored it on Photoshop. I made the textures for the wall backgrounds from photographs.

I found inspiration in 19th Century's Art Nouveau posters by Alphonse Mucha. The specific reason is, Alphonse Daupre (the character) belongs in a parallel world around the same time period. He's a fashion designer. The poster in itself is unusual because it depicts the designer and not a model .-.; but I conceived this poster as a private gift from a client and friend to Daupre. He has a pet owl.

Because of the Art Nouveau style, I didn't shade the clothes with definite shadows, only spots to insinuate volume; the hair is a mix of textures, as the owl feathers are, too. I might have tanned him a tad too much, but I like how he looks so I left him with a healthy tan. I am rather pleased with the hair c__c;. I intended to use color like in Mucha's posters, more interpreting than actually depicting.
